MAUUA Bulletin Board
Dear MAUUA friends,
Our democratic process has done its work, and it appears that people strongly favor meeting at Boulder Hot Springs, so we will hold our annual meeting there on April 5-6. We will sleep over one night. View BHS's web site at:
http://www.boulderhotsprings.com/
Boulder Hot Springs ' director has requested that you call the inn directly at 406-225-4339 to make your room reservation.
To keep costs affordable, two individuals can share a room with twin beds for the same cost as a couple would pay, $80 a room, or $40 each for two individuals. That's for the guest rooms, some of which have their own bathroom and others that rely on a shared bathroom. In the higher-priced B&B rooms, there's a good deal too: Three people can stay in these rooms - one person sleeps in the daybed that converts to a regular bed. Split three ways, a $100 B&B room would cost about $34 per person. I believe the state bed tax would be a bit extra. (By the way, we are getting a group discount.)
Folks who want to camp are welcome to bring RVs, campers and tents. Camping costs $10 a night and includes use of the pools and showers. Sorry, BHS doesn't allow pets.
Dinner on Saturday night would be $16 for an all-you-can-eat buffet. Sunday breakfast will be $9. You're not obligated to buy the meals if you bring your own food, but we won't have access to the kitchen facilities as the food service staff will be working there, and it's a small kitchen. (I'll look into bringing a small microwave oven.) If you would like a sack lunch to take on the road Sunday afternoon, the Boulder Hot Springs kitchen staff will work with us on that.
Our use of the conference room is free of charge. We'll also have free access to the hot springs pools. There are hiking trails if the weather allows, and the surrounding area is very scenic.
We're still working on a program for the event, so I encourage you to write me about issues your congregation would like to address during the weekend workshops. Requests are welcome!
Also, if you'll be coming alone and are seeking a roommate, let me know so that I can help you arrange that. (I need a roommate myself. I'm quiet and don't snore. )
I'll create a flyer you can distribute to your congregation. How many flyers would you like me to send?
Questions? Concerns? Just let me know.
Yours, Laura Behenna
